On Farm Data Collection & Practical Advice

Based on Gower, South Wales we routinely work with farmers across Wales, West Midlands, Cheshire, Shropshire and the South West. We also happily venture across to Ireland and mainland Europe for some projects.

Regional Field Team

On larger projects, we bring in the support of our regional data collection team. Our fantastic team are based across Wales and all come from farming backgrounds, with most still working within their family farming businesses.

Ben James BSc (Hons)

Siaradwr Cymraeg

Aberystwyth Agriculture graduate Ben Lloyd James brings a valuable combination of hands-on farming experience and practical, evidence-based consultancy to Brynmair. Having worked across a wide range of Welsh livestock systems, from organic dairy to upland sheep and running his own farm, Ben has a grounded understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing farm businesses today.

With extensive experience in grazing management, data analysis and farm benchmarking across dairy, beef and sheep enterprises, Ben works closely with farmers to improve productivity, efficiency and long-term resilience. As a RoMS Accredited Mobility Scorer, he delivers on-farm lameness assessment and advisory services across dairy herds throughout Wales, achieving measurable reductions in lameness incidence for his clients. Ben is proficient in grazing management platforms including Agrinet, and supports clients with business planning and farm development at every stage of their farming journey.

A recipient of the Hybu Cig Cymru scholarship, Ben's research into reducing greenhouse gas emissions in pasture-based livestock systems reflects his belief that environmental performance and farm profitability go hand in hand, and that the best advice is always rooted in the realities of working farms.
